I met Javad Mottaghi when he was Secretary General of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, a sister organization of the EBU. For almost ten years our ways crossed and we attended many conferences together, advocating the importance of public service media.  Javad is now a friend.

When later he became Adjunct Professor at the Department of International Business at HEC Montreal in Canada I had the pleasure of joining him for guest college.

Javad Mottaghi, together with professors Russell Fralich and Taïeb Hafsi, now published  “Public Service Media Organizations and Society. A Guide for the Next Generation Leaders”. The book covers challenges and related strategic actions to navigate a very complex media world today. 

It distincts itself from other books because it gives the perspective of many senior media exectuives. I cover the impact of AI on media.

Many of my colleagues covered other aspects.

As is often the case, EBU Intelligence and EBU Academy are cited as leaders in the field. In general EBU is the reference on many topics.
